Xcaret Park Packages vs. Single Tickets: Which Saves More?

Xcaret park packages compared with individual park tickets

Planning to visit more than one Xcaret park? Then you've probably looked at the package price and wondered if it's actually cheaper than buying the tickets one by one. We wanted to know too, so we went through Xcaret's checkout and priced the same trips three ways: each ticket on its own with the early-booking discount, the same tickets as a package, and the 3x2 promotion. We did it for two parks, three, four, and for a family of four.

The package was cheaper than buying the tickets on their own every single time. It comes down to the way Xcaret's discounts work: the biggest discount a single ticket can get is smaller than the one a package gets, and the two don't stack. What did surprise us is how much Xcaret leaves out of its package pages, and that's where you can save a bit more.

This isn't a list of today's offers, those are on our Xcaret coupon page. This is about how Xcaret's pricing works, so you know the best way to buy before you get to the cart.

Key takeaways
  • A package beat buying the tickets on their own with Xcaret's standard early-booking discounts on every trip we priced, because it takes 5 to 10 percent more off each ticket.
  • The 3x2 promotion beats the package on the three combinations it covers, but only by a few dollars.
  • Xcaret Basic can be packaged with another park even though Xcaret only sells packages with Plus, and it was the cheapest pairing we found.

Three discounts, and you only get one of them

Xcaret gives you one of three discounts online, and they don't stack. The whole question is which one you end up with.

10% off

One Xcaret ticket, booked at least 7 days ahead. That's as high as Xcaret goes on its own.

15% off

One ticket to Xplor, Xel-Ha, Xenses or Xoxi, booked at least 21 days ahead. Between 7 and 20 days you get 10%.

20% off

Two or more parks or tours in one cart, on different days.

Why the package won every time

Every trip we priced included Xcaret, and Xcaret is where the package makes the biggest difference. In the cart the discount shows up as one line, "Package 2 tours combinable" or "Package 3 tours combinable", and it comes off the regular price of each ticket, the same price the early-booking discount comes off.

The Create Your Own Package builder takes up to four parks or tours. Four parks get the same discount as two, so there's no extra reward for a bigger cart, and nothing lost either. We also checked the ready-made two-park pages against the builder and got the same totals, so it doesn't matter which one you use.

What you give up is flexibility. The packages we priced can't be cancelled or refunded, with or without transportation.

When the 3x2 promotion beats the package

Xcaret's 3x2 promotion covers three fixed combinations. Each one is Xcaret Plus and Xenses plus one of Xel-Ha, Xplor or Xoxi, and each has a code you type into the cart. The code doesn't stack with the package discount. Type it in and the package line disappears, and instead the cheapest of the three tickets, which is Xenses in all three, comes off the total.

Here's why it wins, and why it doesn't win by much. Xenses costs a little more than a fifth of the three tickets put together, so getting it free beats the package discount on all three, but only just. The codes themselves, and the ones for the other Grupo Xcaret parks, are on the coupon pages in our Travel & Experiences category.

Add anything else and the code is refused. A fourth park, or a different park instead of Xenses, puts you back on the normal package, which was still well ahead of buying the tickets one by one for four parks and for Xcaret Plus with Xplor and Xel-Ha.

One thing to watch on the promotion page: it opens with transportation switched on, so the price at the top includes three hotel transfers. Switch it off and the page shows the same price the cart charges with the code.

The Basic ticket you can package anyway

Every package Xcaret sells, whether you build it or pick a ready-made one, uses Xcaret Plus, the ticket with the buffet, the Plus Area lockers and changing rooms, and the snorkel gear. Basic admission is only sold on the Xcaret admissions page, and you won't find it in any package.

The cart doesn't care. Put Basic in a cart with another park and the package line shows up, with the same discount on both. We tried it with Xel-Ha and with Xplor, and it worked both times. Basic costs less than Plus to start with, so you end up with a two-park package cheaper than anything on Xcaret's package pages, as long as you can do without the buffet.

Two parks in one day is a different ticket

The "two parks on the same day" tickets, like Xcaret Plus with Xplor, have one flat price. No early-booking discount, no package line, and it's well under the two-day package for the same two parks.

The catch is you do both parks on the same date, Xplor closes at 5 p.m., and if you skip the second park you don't get a refund and you can't move it to another day. Adding a third park doesn't help either. The same-day ticket doesn't count as a park for the "two or more" discount, so the third park was priced as a single ticket with its early-booking discount and nothing else.

A single-park code came close, but not close enough

Some parks have a code of their own. Xoxi's stacks with the early-booking discount for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday visits and takes 32% off a single ticket, which is more than the package gives you. So the obvious thing to try is buying Xcaret on its own and Xoxi with the code.

It almost works. With Basic for Xcaret, the package and the separate route came within a dollar of each other. With Plus, the package was a few dollars cheaper.

What changes with kids

Kids aged 5 to 11 pay 75% of the adult price on every ticket, and then the package or 3x2 discount is applied the same way. A family cart doesn't change which option wins. It just makes the gap bigger.

How to get the lowest total in the cart

Here's the order we'd do it in, whichever parks you're combining.

1. Basic or Plus

Don't want the buffet? Add Xcaret Basic from the admissions page instead of starting in the builder.

2. One cart

Put every park in the same cart, on different days, up to four.

3. Check for a 3x2 match

If the cart is exactly Xcaret Plus, Xenses and one of Xel-Ha, Xplor or Xoxi, enter the code and see which total is lower.

4. Codes on their own

Any park with its own code goes in a separate cart.

5. Read the total

Take out the IGS Xcaret Assistance line, then check the total on the Check your order step.

Prices checked: September 11, 2026

These are the cart totals we saw for one adult with no transportation and the assistance line removed. All the visit dates were at least 21 days away, so the single tickets got the biggest early-booking discount available. Regular adult prices at the time were Xcaret Plus $179, Xcaret Basic $149, Xplor $159, Xel-Ha $129, Xenses $89 and Xoxi $119. The 3x2 combinations were priced with their codes, the same-day pair at its flat price, and for the Xoxi pair the separate ticket used Xoxi's code.

How we checked

Every total comes from Xcaret's own cart at the Check your order step, the last price you see before you type in your details and pay, in US dollars on the date above. We kept a dated screenshot of each cart. The bought-separately figures add up single-park carts for the same dates.

This is a record of the routes we could price at checkout, not a claim that Xcaret has no other way to pay less. Discounts for Mexican nationals, Quintana Roo residents and INAPAM holders, bank card offers and seasonal sales weren't part of it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Xcaret early-booking discount apply to packages?

No. Xcaret's terms say the early-booking discount doesn't apply when you buy two or more parks together, and the cart follows that: a package gets its package line and nothing else. Booking late doesn't hurt a package. A single Xcaret ticket bought four days out was full price, while a package with the same first visit still got its discount.

Can I use a promo code on an Xcaret package?

Only a 3x2 code, and only when the cart holds exactly that combination. Single-park codes are refused once there's a package in the cart. We even saw Xoxi's code refused on a cart that had held a package earlier and been emptied down to just Xoxi, so start a fresh cart for any single-park code.

Can I add transportation to just one park in a package?

Yes. We added a Cancun hotel transfer to Xcaret only, nothing on Xplor or Xenses, and the cart took it. The transfer got the same discount as the tickets in the package, while on a single ticket the same transfer got the smaller single-ticket discount, so transfers are cheaper when you buy them inside a package.

What happens if I miss a day of my Xcaret package?

Change the date before you miss it. You visit a package's parks one per day within seven days of your first visit, or 15 days if you added transportation. A date change has to be made at least 24 hours before the visit, and the price is recalculated. Xcaret's terms don't make any exception for a missed day.

What is the IGS Xcaret Assistance charge in my cart?

It's optional travel assistance that Xcaret puts in every new cart on its own, charged per person. It isn't part of any ticket or package price. If you don't want it, click the trash icon on that line before you pay. None of the package prices Xcaret advertises include it.
