How safe is it to buy products online? |
Website purchases are quite safe. Today's web vendors use advanced encryption to secure confidential financial information. Consumers can easily verify that their private data remains secure prior to the completion of a transaction. To double-check the security of your transaction, take note of the URL in the address bar for the site. When you go to your cart, the beginning of the URL should shift from “HTTP” to the encrypted “HTTPS.” The “S” indicates that your data is secure. Also, make sure that, in the bottom corner of your screen, on the right, you see an icon: a padlock. The lock should appear closed.
You can add extra security measures on your own, too. Best practices suggest that, whenever possible, consumers use a credit card rather than debit card linked to a bank account. Do not provide a store any sensitive data, including anyone's social security number. No vendor needs to know your SS# to sell you simple everyday items. |

Is it difficult to redeem an online-only coupon? |
No- it is simple. Online coupons come in two basic types. We provide both. The first type is a coupon link; we call the second type a coupon code. You redeem each type in a different way. You cannot use online coupons in offline stores. They are not the same as printable coupons, or those in the newspaper. Deal links are easy! To get your discount, just click the link. You have no code to enter, and nothing to print. Proceed with your purchase. During the checkout process, the system automatically applies your discount. Sweet! At times, you may see notices of offer restrictions or details. For example, the system may show you dates during which the offer is valid, or remind you that the offer requires you to purchase certain quantities. If your purchase meets these requirements, you are ready to complete the transaction. Coupon code links, however, work differently. To redeem a coupon code, first click the link. Clicking the coupon code link will copy that code to your clipboard. At this point, you probably will not see the actual code. As you move through the checkout process, you will enter the code stored on your clipboard. Most stores provide a box in your shopping cart into which to paste the code from your clipboard. Stores label this box differently, but almost all will call it one of the following: discount code, source code, promotion code, or coupon code. Coupons for free shipping can be either coupon codes or coupon links. To qualify for free shipping offers, you must usually meet minimum purchase requirements. Always check that your discount appears prior to the final step of checkout. If no discount appears, you will pay full price, and may not have simple recourse. Stores sometimes offer multiple links or codes. Unfortunately, stores rarely permit shoppers to “stack,” or obtain multiple discounts, during a single order. Redeem one at a time. |

Is there anything else I need to know about online coupons? |
Shopper's common sense suggests that one should always be clear about all restrictions, conditions, and terms pertaining to a discount offer. The couponing system saves shoppers money, but has been programmed to prevent abuse by consumers. An online coupon system routinely limits any given discount in various ways. For example, a given offer may only be redeemable once per delivery address, or only paid for once using a given credit card, or only be applicable to a single email address. However, consumers can sometimes overcome these restrictions by using an alternate email address and credit card. Most online coupons are only good for brief periods. Use our coupons quickly, and visit this site frequently for additional deals. |

Help! I didn't get a discount. What can I do? |

The most common reason a discount will not activate is that the offer has expired. We test coupons prior to making them available and weed old offers. However, offers sometimes expire before we have the chance to cull them, and stores sometimes terminate offers early, without advance notice. If this happens to you, please help us by saying “no” when asked, “Did coupon work?” on the page that contained the original offer. Your fellow shoppers will see and appreciate that information. Since we update the site frequently, we publish new online coupons quickly. Fresh coupons often replace the ones that did not work! Subscribe to our deal notifications to take advantage of the best offers as quickly as possible. |

Can I be notified about new discount coupons? Deal Alerts! |
Yes. If you have an email address, you have all you need to receive our deal alerts. Shoppers can get deal alerts in two ways. We offer a free email newsletter to anyone who subscribes. We publish it weekly and spotlight our most sought-after online coupons. Each of our store pages also features an opportunity to sign up for alerts to coupons from that particular store. When you activate that feature, we send you an email alert every time your favorite stores issue new discount offers. |
